Welcome to Robin Hood’s Well!

Our self-contained farm stay accommodation is situated in Sassafras, Tasmania, only a 15 minute drive from Devonport, or a 3 hour drive from Hobart.

The farm Stay offers the opportunity to explore the farming properties of Sassafras, nearby vineyards, bars, restaurants and cafes in Latrobe and Devonport, walking/cycling trails and all that North West Tasmania has to offer from a central and convenient location.

Our mission at Robin Hood’s Well is to provide a welcoming and comfortable home away from home for every guest. We aspire to run a tranquil, sustainable and organic farm.

We are always open to skill sharing in the areas of organic farming, sustainability, art, agriculture, mindfulness etc.

Robin Hood’s Well Farmstay has two dwellings to choose from.

The Garden Studio is luxurious and compact. It suits 2 adults and looks out over beautiful Sassafras. It features a King bed, kitchen and bathroom. Wifi Is also available.

Long Johns Cottage is a darling little country cottage that can accommodate up to 4-5 poeple. It is cosy and comfortable with two bedrooms, kitchen, lounge/dining area with wood fire and bathroom.

Both of these dwellings are available with our Horse & Rider package.

Art Retreats & Workshops

Every month Stacey runs a fully accommodated 4 day art retreat. People come from all over to relax and create on the farm. Retreats are designed for beginners and include meals, yoga and trips to local farms etc.

Robin Hood’s Well is a property of 100 acres originally taken up by Francis Rockliff about 1859. According to the inscription on his tombstone, he came to Sassafras in 1859. It may have been leased until it could be officially surveyed when, according to the deeds, it was bought from the Crown on February 13, 1867, for 120 pounds 12/6…
